Come join Fresno's Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender + (GLBT+) Community, as well as visitors from all over the Central Valley, as they celebrate the anniversary of Pride with this year's Pride Parade and Festival for 2012. This is perhaps the single biggest event in the GLBT+ Community annually, as well as the most elaborate in its organization and preparation, for Fresno and its surrounding communities. Put on by the Fresno Rainbow Pride Committee, Fresno's Pride Parade and Festival serves as a cultural earmark of a very diverse and unique community. With the theme of Rainbow Pride, this year marks another milestone of the initiative that made Fresno history and sparked the emergence of Pride as a celebratory event. Pride symbolizes the feeling of dignity one feels in being content about who they are, a feeling invigorated with each subsequent year that Fresno sees this event. This is as much a social gathering as it is a reminder of the progress our community has made. With various dynamic performers, in drag and not, food, informational and merchandise booths, music, and inspirational speakers, this event is a must-attend, as it will educate and, indeed, entertain. This event, founded in 1991, has grown in participants and popularity, sometimes producing over 3,000 in attendance, and entices community members all over the Central Valley into its tradition. Since its birth, and despite all previous contenders, this event continues to thrive as a symbol of our community's enduring resilience. This event is open to all and any who would like to attend. Please join Fresno and its partnering GLBT+ Communities for this event; your attendance is your support. It never gets too old to celebrate the feeling of Pride!
