We would be honored to have you join us for our upcoming Central Valley Cancer Rights Conferences on Friday, October 5, 2012 at Children’s Hospital Central California in Madera. This free, one-day conference will provide a comprehensive overview about the most common cancer-related legal issues and is open to anyone touched by cancer including patients, survivors, caregivers, healthcare providers, advocates, attorneys, and business and community leaders. Attending social workers, nurses, and attorneys are offered up to 5.5 hours of free continuing education units for attending the Central Valley Cancer Rights Conferences. The Cancer Legal Resource Center (CLRC), a joint program of the Disability Rights Legal Center and Loyola Law School Los Angeles, is a national, nonprofit organization that provides free information and resources on cancer-related legal issues to people coping with cancer. The Cancer Rights Conference will provide attendees with knowledge about legal rights and options, including employment, taking time off work, disability insurance, health insurance options, access to government benefits, insurance navigation, and health care reform. In just three years since their inception, the Cancer Rights Conferences have quadrupled in size and expanded to a national platform. The 2011 Chicago Cancer Rights Conference drew over 350 registrants from 21 different states. The Central Valley Cancer Rights Conference is the only West Coast conference in 2012.
