African American Cultural and Historical Museum
The history, art and culture of African-Americans in the greater Central Valley are featured. Rotating and permanent displays concerning African-American history and culture as well as interpretive displays describing the lives and times of San Joaquin Valley African-American leaders.

American Historical Society of Germans from Russia
A museum of German-Russian and early Fresno artifacts. Genealogy research is available on Germans from Russia.

California Memorial Museum
The California Memorial Museum displays hundreds of items donated from the FDN Y, NYPD and Port Authority Police Department to Pelco Chairman David McDonald following the attacks of Sept. 11. This unique collection includes an American flag flown by the FDN Y at Ground Zero, debris recovered at the World Trade Center site, an FDN Y firefighter uniform worn during recovery operations, as well as hundreds of photos and other memorabilia.

Children’s Museum of the Sierra

Clovis Big Dry Creek Historical Museum
The building that houses this museum is equally famous as the site of a historic and daring 1924 bank robbery. The museum features the history of Clovis from its logging-town roots to the present.

Fresno Art Museum
Since its inception as a regional arts center in 1948, the Fresno Art Museum has grown into an important museum of contemporary and modern art. As the only modern art museum between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the Fresno Art Museum is dedicated to serving the population of Central California. Exhibitions include a wide range of contemporary as well as modern works by local, national and international artists. It provides the region’s 1.6 million residents with a forum for contemporary and modern issues. The museum presents exhibitions, films, concerts, lectures, docent tours and symposia to enlighten, provoke, educate and entertain its visitors.

Fresno Metropolitan Museum of Art and Science
The Met’s home, the historic Fresno Bee Building in downtown Fresno, has reopened following an extensive renovation. The Met presents innovative programming that sparks curiosity and stimulates thinking in the fields of art and science. Permanent exhibit: Reeves Family ASK Science Center.

Hmong Cultural Heritage Center and Museum
This is the first-ever Hmong historical museum and center in the nation. It is dedicated to gathering, preserving, educating and sharing works of history, culture, art and literature, as well as serving as a venue for a wide array of cultural events and activities celebrating the Hmong-American experience.

Kearney Mansion Museum
The restored home of M. Theo Kearney, the “Raisin King of California,” tells the story of Central California agriculture.

Kingsburg Historical Park
This museum includes several historic structures from the Kingsburg area that were restored and relocated to form a village setting around a large lawn and tree area. Tour the 1913 three-room Clay School, the 1908 Olson/Ball House, the medical building, fire house and an old barn full of antiques of a by gone era. Included on the 4.5-acre campus is a large Heritage Building with buggies, freight wagons and a 1924 truck. Visit the Kingsburg Hall of Fame notables and a separate 1939 grocery store. The park is an ideal gathering place for individuals and large groups

Meux Home Museum
This Victorian house was built in 1888-89 by Dr. T.R. Meux, a Confederate surgeon. It is restored with furnishings and equipment that portray early Fresno family life.

Millerton Courthouse
The museum is a restoration of the 1866 courthouse and was the first county seat of Fresno.

R.C. Baker Memorial Museum, Inc.
This unique Museum in Coalinga has a wide variety of displays, including a restored 1934 Richfield Service Station, fossils, American Indian artifacts, Western ranch-hand equipment, oil equipment and a 1924 American La France fire engine. The Museum is dedicated to preserving the history of Coalinga and surrounding areas. Tours available for the museum and the restored 1934 Richfield Station; please call one week prior to the date you wish to visit.

Reedley Opera House
Visit the meticulously restored Reedley Opera House, built in 1903 as the forerunner of today’s multipurpose community center. Restored in 1986, the opera house is now a cultural-arts center dedicated to a wide range of community events and activities including live theater, wine tasting, concerts, art exhibitions, and other stage shows and gatherings. The Opera House has been featured in Sunset Magazine and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

River Center
This restored 1890s ranch house has exhibits for children and adults featuring nature, history and culture of the San Joaquin River, plus art exhibits from local artists and ongoing community programs for all ages. The River Store features unique items reflecting nature, the river and handcrafted works. The River Center is now connected to the Lewis S. Eaton Trail.

Sanger Depot Museum
This Southern Pacific railroad station is now a museum housing the Brehler collection of Indian baskets, a Sanger Flume and Lumber Exhibit, and replicas of a Victorian home from turn-of-thecentury Sanger.

Veterans Memorial Museum
(Home of the “Legion of Valor”)
The only museum in the country dedicated to recipients of the nation’s highest decorations of valor: the Medal of Honor, Distinguished Service Cross, Navy Cross and Air Force Cross.
