Summer in Fresno

Summer nights at their finest!

A summer night in the Valley is as good as it gets with great opportunities for evening strolls, barbecues and summer concerts.

And yes, the Valley gets hot. All the more reason to come and enjoy the variety of places you can cool off. After all, Fresno County has more rivers and lakes than anywhere else in the state. So grab the kids, your friends or even your co-workers, and make summer yours again.

Forestiere Underground Gardens

Take a subterranean journey to the Mediterranean – in the middle of California. Created over the course of 40 years by Italian immigrant Baldesare Forestiere, the Forestiere Underground Gardens consist of a complex network of subterranean rooms, patios and courtyards, patterned after ancient catacombs. Forestiere adorned these areas with a variety of fruit trees and a multi-level aquarium. It's unlike anything you've ever seen!

Woodward Shakespeare Festival

If conquering the River is not on your "bucket list," then head to the Woodward Shakespeare Festival at Woodward Park for one of Fresno's best outdoor theater experiences. All performances are free of charge to ensure everyone can enjoy the poetry, drama and inspiration of the English language's greatest playwright.

Fresno Grizzlies

Fresno's Triple A baseball team, the Fresno Grizzlies, is a hometown favorite. Kids will love Parker, the Grizzlies mascot, and grown-ups will get a few chuckles, too! The Grizzlies play at Chukchansi Park, located in the heart of Downtown Fresno near great dining and hotel accommodations.

Water Parks

Fresno's water parks offer an outdoor adventure, right in town! Parks such as Wild Water Adventures, the Island Water Park and Blackbeard's Family Fun Center offer a variety of slides, pools and play areas, as well as arcades and drier activities.
